The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) loved cats and because of keeping cats, he named one of his favorite Companions Abu Hurairah. Which literally means the father of the cat.
History of cat creation
Studies have shown that 8,000 years ago, jungle cats began to come to human settlements in search of food. At that time there was a lot of rat infestation on the land. After chasing those rats, the cats once came to the human settlement. Rats on the land at that time were a favorite food of cats as well as a major problem for humans. When cats kill them, a friendship develops between humans and cats. And gradually they began to get closer to each other.
Provisions for keeping cats
Cats are the number one pet in the world today. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A woman was tormented because of a cat. He tied the cat. In that case, the cat died. The woman went to hell for this reason, because she did not give eat or drink the cat and did not let go so that she could survive by eating the insects of the land.
It is narrated in Sahih Bukhari that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The cat always tries to stay away from unclean objects. The cat is an animal that likes to walk around people." (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 3482)
The benefits of cats
Cats increase their ability to transmit. Especially young children. When babies grow up, having a cat around them greatly enhances their ability to transmit. When they grow up, there are less prone to various types of infections. They are less likely to have allergies or respiratory problems than other children.
Studies have shown that babies who grow up with cats are relatively healthier than other babies.
Pet cats play a role in keeping your mood good. If you ever feel bad, play with your cat. Take care of him. This will release serotonin into your body. Serotonin is a type of chemical that enhances stimulation. Cats help reduce stress. Because cats help control cortisol levels in your body. Cortisol is a type of chemical that is released during stress. You will feel better when its levels are low. You will feel less pressure.
If you have a cat around you, oxytocin will be released from the body. The hormone oxytocin stimulates love and trust. When you are emotionally disturbed, use gestures with your cat. At this time, the company of your favorite pet cat will stimulate you emotionally.
It is a well-known fact that high cholesterol in the body increases the risk of stroke and heart disease. It can be fatal or minor. However, the amount of cholesterol can be reduced by keeping cats. As a result, health risks are reduced. Patients with high blood pressure can benefit from keeping cats. One study found that people who have pets have lower blood pressure than those who are addicted to high blood pressure.
